Dear &tosters,
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! We’re keeping this one short and sweet today, just how we like our men (kidding!). In all seriousness, Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. I hate people who despise the day because of their “lack of love,” because that’s just silly! How can your love be lackluster when we love you so much?!
My fondest Valentine's Days are those when my mom lavishes me with Hershey Kisses and adorns our home with red post-it notes, each bearing charming anecdotes from my childhood. Now that I don’t live at home, I always run to my mailbox during this time to check for her Hallmark Duane Reade card to add to my growing collection (20 and counting). Of course, not every Valentine’s Day has been sunshine and rainbows. I will never forget when my ex slept in till 3 o’clock in the afternoon and ran to my apartment to set up his Valentine’s Day gift, which was him pouring Peanut M&Ms into a jar and calling it a day. After waking up at 8:30 am, seeing the sun set around 4 o’clock and spending the day mostly alone in my apartment, I'd say my day was, well, uninspired. Young love!
Putting that aside, Gogo and I are so grateful for our community of fashionistas, writers, comedians, confidants, and friends who continue to read about materialism and things they have never asked about once a week! We couldn’t do it without you. So today, you can either choose to be like Elle pre-Harvard Law and sit crying in your bed, throwing chocolates at the TV, or get up and get OUT … with your pink sparkle pen resting gracefully on top of your books and academic nicknacks.
We love you we love you we love you!!!!!
