“Dear &tosters,
I’m in the midst of an identity crisis. For the past several years, I’ve considered myself to be a “gold” girl, with my staple gold necklace and hoops. But more recently, I’ve fallen in love with a ton of silver pieces. It has made me rethink the metal category I’ve always aligned with and ponder over the silver vs. gold conflict in the first place. What are your thoughts on this? On mixing metals?? On choosing on over the other??? On getting through my day to day life sans accessory panic?!!
Xoxo, Lauren”

My dearest Lauren,
First of all, take a breath! An accessory identity crisis is no fun, but we will get through this together. As the bio of our instagram reads, no rulez. However, I am well aware that that is a horrific answer so let me expand a bit. As a gold girl myself, it is sad to see a member of the family leave, but I understand that we must move on to better pastures. If you have let yourself fallen in love with a ton of silver pieces, then so be it! Follow your freaking heart. One day you can be a silver girl, the next a gold girl. It’s fluid. While it can be nice to have some staple jewelry pieces, it can be fun to switch it up every now and then. For me, I wear the same five necklaces every day, but I change the sixth based on my ensemble. As for the mixing metals, I am personally all for it. While it may not be the traditional way to go, it can actually look very nice. Just take a look at Sandy Liang’s jewelry collection. It is mixing metals galore!
P.S. I think we will be seeing a lot more of it. So mix metals, don’t, just wear whatever looks pretty!
I hope this helped. If not, please don’t hate me.
